RŌZ BOOK

Our hair plays a big role in how we feel and how we see ourselves, everyday. Hair can also be transformative: allowing us to experiment with our identity, reveal new sides of ourselves and express who we truly are. It can be deeply emotional, connecting us to our cultures, our histories. But it can also be complex; it’s often a part of ourselves we have to fight to tame, color, tease or grow. My personal hair journey began at thirteen; I was determined to make my hair look like it had that lovely wash & go shine, just like my friends. I felt like my hair was the only thing holding me back from looking like the true nineties queen I dreamed of being. I was just a decade too late with my wild curls and frizz. What began as a struggle, evolved into an obsession, and a 20+ year career in hairdressing.

It really is the person behind the hair that inspires me everyday. When I started RŌZ, I knew I wanted to create a product I believed in. I also wanted to start a conversation with people about their relationship to hair; how it’s changed over the years, and how it reflects who they are now. This journal is an invitation into that conversation. Here you’ll find stories from people I love and admire, about their lives, beauty routines, and how their relationship to hair has changed over the years. I’m honored to get to learn from their stories and share them with you.

Enjoy!
