About Anthony

Anthony Lillio is a hair colorist at Crane Los Angeles. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he developed a love of fine arts early, then went through a L'Oréal training program and was mentored by colorist Sheri Roman of Roman Salon and stylist Michael Bonner of Goodhead. He shares his work as The Lillio Theory, where he sums up his approach in three words: intentional, individual, nuance. His focus is natural-looking color built on subtle tones and hues, designed to grow with the natural base. In RŌZ interviews he has talked about when to wash after coloring and what makes color fade: heat, overwashing, sun and the wrong products.

In Anthony's words

I like 48 hours when possible. Not because your color is magically ‘setting,’ but because immediately shampooing freshly colored hair is unnecessary. Give your hair and that fresh tone a minute.

Usually, heat, overwashing, sun, and the wrong products. Natural-looking color depends on subtle tones and hues. Protect those and your color stays dimensional longer.
