I recently had a client using a sulfate-free shampoo tell me that her hair still felt stripped, which was a great reminder for me to look at the entire routine rather than one ingredient or label. Shampoo’s job is to cleanse the scalp, but hydration after cleansing is just as important. In her case, I wanted to look at whether she was getting enough moisture from her conditioner, mask, and overall routine before assuming the cleanser itself was the issue.
