How to get Healthy Shiny Glass hair
Let’s start with understanding:
What is glass hair?
Glass hair is all about achieving reflective, shiny hair. Quite similar literally to ‘glossy hair’ too. The idea is achieving an extremely smooth, frizz free, shiny look.
This look is common on the red carpet for that high shine glamour. The below process is exactly Mara's process, the founder of RŌZ and celebrity hairstylist.
My simple approach to achieving Glass Hair:
Step One: Prep
Heat protection is absolutely key here. You will be using a fair amount of heating tools and so we want to protect your strands. Apply 2-3 pumps of Santa Lucia Styling Oil on damp hair. It cuts down dry time and creates a smooth glide for blow drying. It also protects from heat up to 450 degrees.
Step Two: Blow Dry
Tough dry hair until about 60-70% dry. Make sure there is still moisture in the hair before using the round brush. Make sure your blow dryer has a nozzle attachment (looks like a triangle shape). This is key to smooth frizz. Blow dry hair on high heat with a round brush. I prefer boar bristle brushes to metal ones.
I like to add one more pump of Santa Lucia during the drying process to add even more glide and shine.
Step Three:
If your hair is still a touch frizzy, consider using a heated round brush or flat iron to touch up sections. I prefer a heated metal round brush to add even more smooth shine.
Step Four: Finish
Lastly, just 1 pump of Santa Lucia goes a long way. Rub it in palms of hands and start by applying it to ends and work your way up. Less if more on dry hair. Feel free to layer it if more is needed.
The best and honest advice? Healthy hair matters, and healthy hair starts in the shower.

Between wash days, or the night before you are going to blow dry your hair smooth, reach for a pre-wash treatment oil, like our Willow Glen. Saturate your dry hair from roots to tips and wash out the next morning (or after 10 min of use). You will notice immediate shine post wash.
